dead on arrival and difficulty in return
Beware of buying pressure washer with Amazon since they not accepted to return even they have said will refund within 30 days in their policy. I bought this unit as brand new in the order but the unit arrived yesterday(9/18/07) was damaged due the box was shipped upside down and no styro foam packing in the box to protect shipment. As the result the gas tank and the engine muffler were crushed ,the pump was damaged also making this unit useless. Contact Amazon ,they said due to federal shipping regulation bla bla they are not accepted return and asked me to contact CH factory for service. Contact C.H rep said since i bought from Amazon ..contact them for return...So far i am being ping pong with different companies while holding a useless expensive pressure washer. It is a bitter taste of buying on line even with a brand name on line store...make me think more those big box retailer in my city for my next buying. An expensive buying experience...ha..ha....
Update..2weeks later. After seeing my complain,Amazon is quickly send me another unit on the next day. After a week, the same UPS man show up again with a big box. This PW is new, just made in 7/07, not my previous damaged unit was made in 12/05 which is shipped w/o any foam packing and probably a customer return before. The new unit is shipped in perfect condition..After putting some oil and gas in..follow the instruction..the unit started easily..The cleaning performance of this equipment is quite good that I can spend 3 hrs to clean all my drive way ,backyard and consumed a little less than 1 gallon. One thing is the Subaru is little loud that I wish they can enlarge the muffler to quiet it down.In future I may add the turbo nozzle to clean the concrete faster.. So far I am happy with the performance of this P/W. I can rate this unit 4 star but due to bad experience of receiving a damaged shipment unit and the hassle of getting of replacement, reshipping to post office to see to be unqualified due the box is too big and heavy{>70lbs} that strain my back..Now I am waiting for UPS to come in my home to pick this monster back {that is the best new in the last few week}.So I still give 1* for CH and 4* for Amazon quick response but minus 1 point for their policy not easy to return PW.

A dream come true!
This unit has so much water pressure that it blew some the rubber off of my truck tire sidewall, the tire was fairly new. Just be careful, use the right nozzle and stand back some. We have used it for our business without any problems as far as water pressure goes. Most of the time you will need to adjust the water pressure down some. This washer even broke lose vinyl siding on a commercial building we were cleaning and I was at least 10 feet away. This unit is not a toy by any means. Do not let anyone use this machine without being instructed in its use. It even cleaned old and new gum off of sidewalks fast. Be careful on wood decks it can damage the wood, just make sure you use the proper nozzles. If you need a washer for extreme cleaning this is the unit for you. I even bought another one for our business.

More power than you will ever need ...
I had a 2000psi pressure washer and after visiting a local car wash, I wondered, "What's the point?" When I saw free shipping on this model, I had to have it. The unit started up flawlessly. Power borders on "overkill" but is there when you need it. This is the pressure washer to have for deck and siding cleaning. Warning: Cut back on the pressure for washing your car to avoid damage.
This unit is a winner!

Not worth the price/look at other brands
This pump is usu. found on cheap models. It may be german designed but axial cam types are no where as good as the piston pumps esp. at higher pressures. The Italian AR ,for example has ceramic pistons and is much more durable and is found on many other brands and costs less. The Honda engine is very good however. They also are measuring that 4000 psi at the pump head, static max, which at the outlet, in use will be at least 500 psi less, and with that type of pump even less. It is not a heavyduty pump. Call a repair shop and ask. The gauge should be at the hose connection if you want to measure what pressure you are actually getting. All these manuf. over rate the pressures. Amamzon has better choices.

Does its job!
No problems so far. It's an engine, it requires care and maintenance, but it's an amazing power washer for the price (got mine refurbed from Karcher for 630.00, free shipping). Anything comparable easily runs into the $1000+ range.

Karcher G 2500 VH - A no "pressure" sale!
Got this over the weekend from Sam's for three hundred and what a great purchace! I have used my friends 2500 psi, 6 hp washer and also rented one once and this is the cream of the crop! The pull start is effortless. The power is good and the pressure is adequate for most home jobs. I pressure washed the walk, driveway and the house in one day. I started on the fence but it took a little more effort on that one. I think i'll use the siphon to wet it with a detergent of some sort to loosen it up and then blast it!
There are 4 different 2500 psi models, but after talking with a rep at a pressure washer depot, they are essentially the same except for layout/orientation and the OH has 5 hp instead of 5.5 hp, but they are all Honda motors. I plan to get the Karcher surface attachment for the driveway, so look that up if you have alot of driveway to clean. I'm overall very happy with this purchace!
One more thing, some users of a previous model had a problem with the unloader valve sticking. If it becomes a problem with this model, here is a link to the "quick fix": http://www.paddockdrayage.com/Karcher/index.htm

Returned mine
Got mine at Sams too. I used mine once and it worked ok. According to Karcher the pump problems that plagued earlier models is now addressed. The problem is that they didn't address the awful quality of the hose that goes to the gun. It kinks way too easily; very aggravating. It's too bad, this unit has nice features and isn't too heavy, but they simply have to improve the hose quality. It is no better than the hose on their electric pressure washers that are half as much (they kink too). I also will not buy another pressure washer that does not have at least a 35' (better yet a 50') hose on it. When you are drawing detergent and trying to wash out a garage, it's a pain to have to go and keep moving the unit around.

Quailty Issues!! Beware!! Exccelent washer outside of this....
Quality Issues!! Beware!! Excellent washer outside of this....
The pressure washer is actually a 2500 OH Honda Engine, had a hose issue within the 1 hour of use, cust service replaced after faxing receipt, great job, now 4 hrs into use and the handle leaks like sinking ship, for a $400 washer this shouldn't happen, poor cust service in calling them today, told them the reviews on Amazon are quality issues, they didn't car, blew me off to quality assurance whom didn't care, it sure sounds like they know what is going on but are trained to say you only have 90days on accessories, that is poor being everything else is 1 year, in reality everything else is the Honda Engine, the quality issues are true! I am now worried what is the future for my unit? But hear me out it works great!
I am writing to you in regards to my Model # G 2500 OH , the handle is leaking / broke, the unit isn't very old and this started only after about 3 hrs of use. I do have a receipt and am in good faith asking if something can be done to correct the issue? At first it appeared to be a simple washer issue but in looking at the issue its leaking from the whole trigger area that as I see is very hard to just replace the washer.

Karcher G 2500 VH 2500 PSI Gas Pressure Washer
I realize this is a product for a G 2500 PH, but is in the same configuration as the G 2500 VH, which is the very same machine in a more current presentation. Quick history: My first Karcher was an electric 1750 psi with extras that lasted two weeks, returned and refunded. My second Karcher G 2500 OH lasted about an hour, returned and refunded (I read all the online remedies, and was still perplexed). Which leaves me to the G 2500 VH, bought from Sams Club. First, It starts easily and it clears air in your hose in less than 2 minutes (you will experience the pump starting and stopping for a couple of minutes, before unobstructed pressure). Second, It has a nicer frame set-up than the others (wheels on the back, instead of front, who wants to pick up and carry their machine?). Third and lastly, I am pleased with this product. I actually paid a little more for this machine than a similiar Troy-Built from Lowes. Why 4 out of 5? Probably minor, but the 25'hose included drives me nuts, it doesn't kink, but I'm endinglessly turning it over to have full extension. Hope this is Helpfull.

Not happy with the customer support
I bought mine at Lowes for $300 with a 10% coupon that I got in the mail. When I opened up the box everything seemed in order I assembled it and with the first use discovered that the wand was missing an O ring. I can not figure out why Troy Bilt was so cheap as to not include an extra O ring in case they forgot to put one on the wand at the assembly line. I had to drive 9 miles to the nearest hardware store to get a box of O rings. My model did not come with a detergent tank but came with a siphon hose that you are supposed to be able to dip in to a gallon container of detergent. I tried this and the siphon hose does not suck up the detergent. The owners manual does not list a valve that you have to open so I assume there is none which visual inspection seems to confirm. I did switch to the low pressure valve as the manual instructs. I have called the customer support number listed in the owners manual and have gone through the usual press one for English jump through the hoops routine about 12 times this month. They are always experiencing the usual "Higher than normal call volume" every time I call, I even left a voice mail but no one has called me back in one month. This is the first Troy Bilt product I have ever purchased and not likely to buy one again. Other than that the washer does what it is supposed to do. I wish the detergent siphon worked so I could use it to soften up the dirt and may be even wash the vinyl siding and brick on my home. The Honda motor does work very well, quite fuel efficient and easy to start.

Questions & Answers
Question : Craftsman Gas Power washer, hose is dry rotted;?
I have a Craftsman Gas Power Washer 2250 psi, model number 580-768030, can anyone tell me the "special tool" used to disconnect the wand hose from the pump housing. My hose is dry rotted, need to replace, however, can't get the the connector disconnected from the pump housing.
Answer:
Is it a quick connect connection? Where there is a brass sleeve that you pull back and the connection pops apart.
It could have lime deposits making it stick. Try a pilers to wiggle it back and forth and spin the sleeve around.

Question : Oil in the gas tank of our power washer by mistake? What can flush the oil out?
By mistake and excitement oil was put in the gas tank of the new power washer we bought...How can it be flushed out??
We emptied the tank and washed it out with a dry cloth best we could...All info and help would be appreciated..
Right now we have gas in the gas tank but it coughs and pops and sputters like the Absent minded professors old car....hehehe
Thanks for the suggestions for how and what to flush this out with.... 8-)
Answer:
You mostly already have. Now remove by siphoning (or some other way) the contaminated gasoline, and refill with fresh gasoline. That should burn a lot better, but use it all the way down to empty, where it actually runs completely out of gas and stops on it's own. From then on, everything should be normal..... normal..... normal.

Question : Is it ok to run a Craftsman gas powered pressure washer in the rain?
Just bought a Craftsman pressure washer. Gas powered. Briggs & Stratton engine. I believe it's a 190cc. Using it on a huge fence and deck. Forecast is for rain for the next few days. Really want to get the job done. Rain doesn't bother me, but is it bad for the motor?
Answer:
The heat produced from the device running is enough to evaporate any moisture it comes in contact with, ie, light rain storm, inadvertant spray.

Answer:

Question : How do you switch from gas to electric in your home?
I am buying a home and it has a gas stove and gas powered washer/dryer. All of the appliances I would be bringing with me are electric. Do you have to get someone to re-wire the house? Or is there another way to do this?
Answer:
I assume you are concerned about just your appliances, not fixtures in the house like the furnace or water heater.
If the proper outlets are already on the wall, then all you have to do is plug the electric appliances in (and of course cap off the gas lines). No big deal. Many appliance retailer / installers can do this for you. If the proper outlets are not on the wall, then you will have to call an electrician.
Most houses I've seen that have both gas and electric service are set up for both gas and electric appliances so a consumer can easily use either.
I hope this helps. Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.

Question : Lots of gas in the oil resevior of Honda power washer???
I have a power washer with an 11hp honda OHV motor that recently broke down. It would run for a few seconds and blow a ton of smoke then stall. It wouldnt start again for about an hour and the same thing would happen. I started working on it and found that oil was coming out of the crankase breather hose back into the airbox...lots of oil. When I drained the oil I realized that there was a ton of gas in the oil..seemed like it was 40% gas. Any ideas how gas could be getting into the oil resevoir?
Thanks!
Answer:
Youre lucky you didnt blow the motor up. When gas overflows the carb and finds it way into the oil - it thins it out enough to where the oil wont lubricate anymore and ruin the berings.
The gas is overflowing the float bowl - number of things causing this? Dirty carb, bad float. Id remove and clean the carb thouroughly - all the lil pinholes - everything. Check to see if the float has been saturated with gas ( due to a pinhole- it happens) . The fuel needle seat could have dirt in it. The reason why it pushed it all out thru the breather is it didnt have anywhere else to go , when it overflowed it overfilled the oil and spit it out thru the breather.

What is the best brand of ELECTRIC power washer? I do not want gas... I've heard McCulloch, is this true?
Answer:
I got the Husky 1800 PSI electric washer from Home Depot for about $150 a couple years ago. It works great and I've never had a problem with it.

Question : Gas powered pressure washer dies when pressure is turned on?
It runs fine, but whenever you turn the pressure on to wash, it dies. WTF is wrong with it?
Where's that and how do I un-stick it!?
Yeah, I thought about that but it's a Sears brand washer. Wal Mart doesn't sell them.
Answer:
Sounds like a lack of pressure built up in the pump. Let the unit run for a while before you pull the trigger on the gun.
