Not Impressed
The first one arrived with a on-off switch broken in a bunch of pieces so we sent it back. The second one had the on-off switch in place, but when we pushed it, it sprung back to the off position and never turned on. We're sending it back and will not order another. AT least Amazon has been good about sending UPS out to pick it up.

Weekend Warrior
This is a nice machine. I don't usually buy things without kicking the tires so to speak but a buddy of mine brought one and really liked it so I thought okay, I'll try it out. I got this small cabin on a lake and I needed to get it ready for the winter. The wood siding has not been cleaned in years. Boy, it did a heck of a job. The place almost looks like new. I cleaned off my boat and several outdoor chairs. I even brought outside some old indoor chairs and washed them off. The brush was good for some cleaning of the big outdoor cement grill I got. I called there customer service to find out what detergent to use. Nice friendly people. I like the unit. Man, my buddies are gong to be impressed on how clean the place looks. I am going to use it on the deck back at the house next week. Great buy!!!

Cheap Construction!
The assembly of the unit was hard due to cheap molded parts. The handle was hard to install and the wheels kept falling off. Finally I used the machine without the wheels. The pressure washer itself does a nice job, if only all the parts would stay together. Roger in Olympia, WA.

seems like junk
I bought this to clean my deck but when I turned it on it just hummed a little bit then kicked off. I tripped my circuit breaker so I reset it and it continued to do the same thing on different circuits. I called tech support and the guy was a bit rude but somewhat helpful. He said the pump sometimes needs to get turned on and off a few times before it unfreezes. Yea, that gave me a lot of confidence in this product. So I hooked it up to a kitchen outlet and low and behold it worked for a few seconds. I then took it outside and tried it again and it would only work intermittently. The representative wanted me to send it in for service but I said no way I'll just return it to the store where I got it to get a refund. I don't think I'll ever buy anything with the Sistema brand because of this experience. When you are dealing with electricity and water you don't want to mess around with poorly designed products. The built-in GFI in the power cord didn't seem to work very well since this thing kept tripping my breaker in the basement.

HAVE TO RATE IT A 1 SINCE IT NEVER GOT HERE
UPS lost the order yet Amazon hasn't refunded the money to my gift certificate balance, the order was placed 7-18. According to Amazon's website I was credited on July 25th however it was not actually credited. After three calls to them I just get the run around. Amazon's customer service has been HORRIBLE as of late. Every time I call they tell me to wait 2-3 more days, I want my money!

Questions & Answers
Question : Can an electric power washer be used with an extension cord? If not, why not?
I have a heavy duty 100 ft extension cord and want to buy an electric power washer. I keep reading reviews that say that they can not be used with an extension cord. However, because of outlet placement, I have to. Is there a guage cord I could use?
Answer:
Small wire cords will cause a voltage drop and can burn up the motor in the power washer, voiding the warranty. A larger cord will not cause a voltage drop. You need to know the amps required by the washer.
A cord 100 feet long will give you this many amps without a serious voltage drop:
#10 12 amps at 120 volts
#12 8 amps at 120 volts
#14 5 amps at 120 volts
most heavy duty cords are #14

Question : how much pressure from an electric power washer will take the paint off of my car?
I'm looking for an electric power washer to clean my cars, driveway, house siding etc. But I'm worried that too much pressure could harm what I want to clean.
Answer:
I don't think the pressure is the problem, I think the attachment, and what degree sprayer you are using makes the difference...Now obviously pressure affects it some, but if you use a 0 degree sprayer, you are going to remove paint, but go to a wider angle, and keep about a 16" distance from your car, and you should be ok.

Question : I have a large bathroom in my office. Is it possible to use an electric power washer to blast away dirt?
I saw one on sale for $200 in Lowes. How can you use an electric power washer indoors and hook it up to the water so I can blast away in the bathroom.
Answer:
If the bathroom is in your office, they should have a department called maintenance, housekeeping, or janitor.....They should take care of it. A power washer has too much power for indoor use it can blow the walls out....So call maintenance so you don't lose your job for blowing down walls and save that $200........Plus you asked these question twice in one day, you must have just moved in recently. I suggest if you want to keep your office maintenance is the way........
Think Twice about what you do...........

Question : "Karcher" residential electric power washer's motor does not start.?
Power supply is o.k. No visible damage to extention cord attached to console.
Answer:
First off, you'll not be happy with this pressure washer. It's a toy. I ended up selling mine and buying a "real" one (gas engine model).
The Karcher unit first must be hooked up to a full-flow water supply. Do not use a hose less than 5/8". 3/4" is better yet. After you turn on the hose, hold the gun lever open to FULLY purge the unit of air bubbles. Now, turn it on. Make certain you've a live power source and that the in-line (at the plug) breaker is not tripped). It is designed to turn off the motor when pressure builds within the unit as you turn off the gun. When you squeeze the trigger, it restarts. (Sell it!)

Question : A good reliable electric power washer?
A good reliable electric power washer?
Answer:
I have a gas powered Troy-built and just love it. We looked at the electric one and thought we need the extra power a gas one provided. Go to epinions.com and consumer reports to compare. These were very helpful in making our decision.

Question : husky power washer 1800 psi ?
I have a new electric husky power washer 1800 psi and the problem i am having is that i go to use it on high pressure to do my deck and after about 5 minuets the pressure shuts off. I wait for about 5 minuets of so and then it will kick back on and i can use it. I notice that if i start and stop i can go a little longer but it is kinda irritating. I want to just go at it but i cant cause the pressure starts and stops. anyone had this problem ?
Answer:
i've not had this problem, but u should try a little mechanic work on it! try the filters, drain the gas and put new pas in it.... u get the picture! has it ever been stored over the winter? the old gas might have gummed up in the engine....very bad.....take stuff apart and see if u can find the problem!

Question : How do you switch from gas to electric in your home?
I am buying a home and it has a gas stove and gas powered washer/dryer. All of the appliances I would be bringing with me are electric. Do you have to get someone to re-wire the house? Or is there another way to do this?
Answer:
I assume you are concerned about just your appliances, not fixtures in the house like the furnace or water heater.
If the proper outlets are already on the wall, then all you have to do is plug the electric appliances in (and of course cap off the gas lines). No big deal. Many appliance retailer / installers can do this for you. If the proper outlets are not on the wall, then you will have to call an electrician.
Most houses I've seen that have both gas and electric service are set up for both gas and electric appliances so a consumer can easily use either.
I hope this helps. Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.
