Question : any ideas to help promote the king's camp
im part of the staff at a church for a program we call King's Camp. its where kids under 11 meet at the church after school every wednesday. we play games, eat snack, have crafts, king's camp cash for a store, pray, sing, study. we dont have very many kids...maybe about 15 that come regularly. we are having a hard time getting authority because im a younger age and so are 3 other people working there. we are just starting to have a timed schedule. we need more kids. we need advertising. we need fundraising ideas. the may festival is coming up and we're going to have a booth. we are going to have a lot of literature there and we have a game that the kids can have fun with. we have a tarp that we are going to put images of finding nemo on where they throw the fishing line over and we clip something on there for them to have. but i think we still need something more. we need to promote the king's camp somehow. we need to advertise. any ideas about anything. thank you

I love the fact that you have King's Camp every Wednesday. In Palm Desert, Ca they have Chaos which is on Wednesday nights for all aged kids. They have an outdoor carnival and the advertising is done by the older students. I would be happy to help you make flyers,print them, and send them to you for free. Advertising is easy because you could do a press release in your local newpaper for free. You can also take flyers to various schools and hand them out at Sunday School. As far as fundraisers, do you have any adult there that can volunteer their time If not, then its ok because you and the other people can do fine on your own. For games, you can take scraps of material and make bean or rice bags that the kids can throw throw through a piece of plywood that has three holes in it. You can also buy balloons and make a game called Pop a Balloon, in which kids can pop a balloon which has either slips of paper for candy, small toy,or little scrolls with Psalms on them, or they can even win story time, a Wednesday pal or your camp cash in it. Another game is taking crepe paper and tying one end to a pole and have the kids race to see who can cut the paper the fastest. (6 crepe paper trails at one time) Lets see there are so many thing you can do Have a small obstacle course where the kids can have fun Once these fundraisers start adding up, you can go to Oriental Trading coming which has fantastic church approriate prizes for each game or fundraiser you have. You can also sell bags of popcorn and punch with a movie night

I don't know I sure enjoyed it. I think it could be for anyone who is interested in writing or would like to become a better writer. It is definately different than say...Shrunk's Elements of Style.
